If
logging enabled, ZAR logs all significant activity and findings to the
specified file. Log format is human-readable plain text, primarily used for
troubleshooting data recovery process issues (especially in case of severe
damage). Logged items include
- Hard disk(s) information and status.
- Partition table and LDM database analysis progress and results
- Data identification results
- Filesystem parameters detection progress and results
- Filesystem structure reconstruction process
- File validation results
- Various performance information
Log file can grow as large as 100 MB on large drives - you should place it on
the volume with enough free space available. If the disk space is exhausted, log
output is silently suppressed.
The following settings are available
- Logging mode selection. Specifies the number of log files
stored.
- Disabled, no logging - no log file is stored at all.
- Single file, limited size - all the logs are stored
into the specified file; if the file exceeds the preset limit,
the contents are erased and log is started anew.
- Single file - all the logs are stored into single
file. The size of that file is not monitored.
- One log file per session - each time ZAR starts, a
new log file is generated, based on the file name you specify
and the timestamp.
- Detail level selection. You should use Normal
mode unless explicitly asked to switch to Extended mode by support personnel.
Extended mode is here for debugging purposes only.
-
- Overwrite the log file if it is greater than X MB. When enabled, the existing log file size will be checked and the file
overwritten if it is greater than a specified threshold. Note that the log file
size is only checked at startup, so it is possible that the log file will grow
past the specified limit during the recovery run. In such a case, the log file
will be overwritten upon the next launch of ZAR.

If enabled, ZAR will connect to
www.z-a-recovery.com to check if there
is a newer version available. If there is, you will be prompted if you want to
download and install the update. |

Some of the ZAR notifications can be suppressed by picking "Do
not show this message in the future" option in the notification window.
This button restores all the previously hidden "hints" and "tips". |

I had deleted the pics on my camera's memory card and then was shocked to find out later that
I had accidentally deleted the file on my computer where my pics were.
I searched Cnet and TuCows for flash recovery software but they either cost money or were
restricted in their functions.
Zero Assumption recovered all the pictures that I had on my flash card including even older ones
that I had deleted a long time ago.
The recovered pictures were the original size.
It was simple to use with only one sole purpose - to rescue those lost files.
I was saved by this program and trust me if you want recover deleted pictures from your flash card,
you should download this program. It is free and it works.
